Kitten Kisses (Written to cheer Peter up)
Charles, a little brown haired cat-boy, is curled up on the couch alone. The room is mostly barren, and he hasn’t seen anyone for what feels like forever. His ears have fallen against his skull, and his tail is wrapped around him as he tries to conserve warmth in the huge room.
The door opens, and Charles peeks over the edge of the couch. ‘Are they taking me away?’ He thinks. But no, one of the aides pushes another kitten into the room, a little older and larger. Charles’ ears perk up despite himself, and when the boy’s eyes light on him, he ducks down against the couch seat, catching only a glimpse of auburn and gray-green.
Sniffing, the newcomer makes his way over to the couch, peering at his fellow Companion. He’s met with wide, blue eyes and a timid smile.
“I’m Chawles.” The blue-eyed kitten mewls.
“Erik.” Says the older one.
“Hullo Ewik.” Erik smiles back, leaning over the cushion and sniffing Charles.
Charles sniffs back, their noses brushing. Finished with the introductions, Charles scoots back on the seat, batting at the cushion in invitation. Erik climbs up, and Charles looks in wonder at the other boy’s coloring.
The auburn kitten crawls over stretching out around Charles, giving off more warmth than the younger boy. It lures the dark haired kitten close, shivering as he settles against Erik. Erik wraps his arms around the other Companion, snuffling at his ear.
Charles purrs and coos at him, stretching to return the gesture. Erik smiles at his effort and ducks his head, eyes closing as Charles licks affectionately at his furred ears. When he opens them, he finds Charles staring up at him. His ears quirk in question, and the kitten blushes, ears going back as he leans up. Erik’s ears go straight up as their lips meet, then back down as he relaxes and returns the chaste press of lips.
Charles breaks the kiss, smiling at Erik and pressing as close as possible. Erik winds their tails together, hugging the other kitten as they purr together, drifting off for a nap.
